Kuala Lumpur Bird Park – Asia Largest Bird Park

City: Kuala Lumpur
Country: Malaysia
Province: Federal Territory
Opend 1991

Species 200

The Bird Park covers an area of 8,5 ha and shows especially malaysian animals. Sprawling approximately 20.9 acres of verdant valley terrain, the park is divided into 4 zones; Zone 1 and 2 make up the free-flight zone; Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where the birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries. Visitors will have an exciting experience of watching colourful and melodic birds perching and winging about freely while relaxing in a natural and beautifully landscaped surrounding. KL Bird Park is also reputed to be the largest walk-in free-flight aviary in the world.

One of KL Bird Park's most extraordinary feature is that in Zone 1, 2 and 3, birds are let free in the aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat. With this free-flight concept, birds are able to breed naturally in this unique environment

After paying the entrance fee we walk in to an aviary with sun conures. An aviarie next to them has budgerigars.  From there we enter the first large aviary with herons and storks. Following the path to the right we soon meet different types of owls and a bit later Brahminy kites. Passing some smaller aviaries passing a stream we have the Flamingo pond in front of us. Exciting the big aviary we enter the Hornbil Park with different types of hornbills. Following the path to the left we enter world of parrots. Here we can feed the fre flying lorekeets. On the right side there are larger cages for parrots. Outside again we meet the classic row of aviaries for small birds and pheasants. Now we enter the waterfowl aviary with pelicans among other.  A bit down we have enclosures for flightless birds

DK: Denne fuglepark består hovedsageligt af store friflyvningsvolierer der betrædes. Dette betyder at man muligvis ikke ser alle arter, men det giver den enkelte fugl en større frihed
